Job Title: Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a brilliant Special school in the Cheltenham area. The successful candidate will provide support to students with a wide range of special needs and disabilities, including ASD, SEMH, PMLD, and SLD.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, working 8:30am - 3:15pm, Monday to Friday. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with complex needs and be able to provide general classroom support as well as specific 1-1 support inside and outside of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to students with complex needs, including ASD, SEMH, PMLD, and SLD.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal care and mobility.
  • Support students with their academic and social development.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students with complex needs.
  • Ability to provide general classroom support and specific 1-1 support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
