Job Title: Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a brilliant Special school in the Cheltenham area.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, working closely with students aged 4-19 who have a wide range of special needs and disabilities, including ASD, SEMH, PMLD, and SLD.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general classroom support and 1-1 support to students with complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Assist students with daily living skills, personal care, and mobility.
  • Support students with challenging behavior and develop strategies to promote positive behavior.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students with special needs and disabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.
