About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Midwife to join our team as a Maternity Safety and Governance Lead. This role will focus on improving the safety and effectiveness of private maternity services, working closely with the NHS Maternity Quality & Safety team to implement a robust governance framework across the service.

The successful candidate will have 5 years of post-registration midwifery experience, with a strong background in multidisciplinary working, teaching, and training. They will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as proven leadership skills.

Main Responsibilities

The Maternity Safety and Governance Lead will be responsible for providing professional and operational support to the Midwifery clinical and management team, focusing on Claims, Complaints, Clinical Risk, and Governance initiatives and issues. They will work closely with the Quality and Safety Lead to coordinate and complete National and local Quality and Safety audits across the service.

The ideal candidate will have up-to-date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues, with a good level of skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. They will be able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels, ensuring that they receive training and are knowledgeable about PMRT and other external review bodies.
