Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior VAT Analyst to join our team at Informa. As a Senior VAT Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of service delivery in line with agreed timelines. You will work closely with our business partners to understand their individual requirements and provide accurate and timely financial information to key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and Review of VAT Returns: You will be responsible for the preparation and review of allocated VAT returns (UK and overseas) to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review of EC Sales Lists and Intrastate Declarations: You will review EC Sales lists and intrastate declarations to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review of Balance Sheet Tax Related Reconciliations: You will review balance sheet tax-related reconciliations by set deadline to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assistance with Annual PSA Returns: You will assist with the review of the annual PSA returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitoring of VAT Accounts: You will monitor postings made to VAT accounts and ensure all journals are supported by appropriate documentation and correctly posted.
  • Advice and Guidance: You will provide advice and guidance to other teams within the shared services and within the divisions in terms of offering guidance on new products, invoice complexities, and ad-hoc queries.
  • Setting up New VAT Registrations: You will assist with setting up new VAT registrations across the world.
  • System Testing: You will complete system testing for new VAT rules and new products.
  • Ensuring Systems are Up to Date: You will ensure systems are up to date for VAT rate changes, liaising with the system teams as appropriate.
  • VAT Training: You will prepare and provide VAT training to other SSC teams and the business as required.
  • Liaising with Tax Advisors: You will liaise with tax advisors, both overseas and UK, as required.
  • Addressing Tax Authority Queries: You will assist in addressing tax authority queries in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Project Work: You will assist with relevant project work (e.g. acquisitions, disposals, restructuring, etc.).

Requirements:

  • 4 Years Relevant Tax and Financial Accounting Experience: You will have 4 years of relevant tax and financial accounting experience.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: You will have excellent communication skills at all levels, including a wide range of stakeholders within the business.
  • Highly Organized and Diligent: You will be highly organized and diligent with attention to detail and the ability to maintain these skills while working under pressure.
  • Strong Presentation Skills: You will have strong presentation skills.
  • Advanced Skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook: You will have advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proven Ability to Work to Stringent Deadlines: You will have a proven ability to work to stringent deadlines.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Oracle Systems: Knowledge of SAP and Oracle systems is preferable.
