Job Title: Senior VAT Analyst, European VAT Compliance Specialist

About the Role:
The European VAT Compliance & Controllership team at Amazon is seeking a Senior VAT Analyst to support teams across Europe and International. As a VAT expert, you will work cross-functionally across businesses and technology teams to understand current processes and their opportunities for automation. Your key responsibilities will include process improvement, productivity enhancement, and automation of VAT compliance tasks.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation of VAT compliance tasks
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver impactful findings and recommendations
  • Collect requirements from end-users and customers to create effective automation strategies
  • Liaise with key business partners and senior management to align priorities and define best-in-class processes

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications
  • 2+ years of experience in data mining, Python programming, or computer programming
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in a Finance, Tax, or Corporate environment
  • Proficiency in Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven record of operational excellence and defect reduction
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in SQL
