Job Title: Emergency Planning Officer

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Emergency Planning Officer to join our Emergency Planning Resilience and Response (EPRR) Team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will support the EPRR Team in developing and maintaining emergency plans, training packages, and exercises to ensure the Trust's preparedness and response to emergencies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and review emergency plans, including business continuity plans, to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training and exercising programmes to ensure Trust staff are competent and confident in their roles during emergencies.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to internal colleagues and external partners on emergency planning and response.
  • Support the EPRR Team in coordinating communications with external partners, commissioners, and regulators.
Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject or significant experience in emergency planning.
  • Proven experience in writing reports and presenting complex information to various audiences.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, think critically, and recommend appropriate action.
  • Excellent organizational, programme, and time management skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • Diploma in Health Emergency Planning (DipHEP) or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualification in project management or management studies.
  • Experience working in the NHS or public sector.
  • Experience in performing risk assessments and developing emergency plans.
