Job Title: Emergency Planning Officer

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Emergency Planning Officer to join our team. As a key member of the Emergency Planning Resilience and Response (EPRR) Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the Trust's preparedness and response to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain emergency plans, including business continuity plans, to ensure the Trust's ability to respond to emergencies.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training and exercising programs to ensure Trust staff are competent and confident in their roles during emergencies.
  • Support the EPRR Team in coordinating communications with external partners, commissioners, and regulators.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify, assess, and manage risks that may impact the clinical management group or department's ability to deliver care.
Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject or significant experience in emergency planning.
  • Proven experience in writing reports and presenting complex information to various audiences.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, think critically, and recommend appropriate action.
  • Highly competent computing skills, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
  • Experience working in the NHS or public sector.
  • Knowledge of emergency planning legislation, including the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels of seniority.
