E and I Engineer Position for Reliability Improvement

Job OverviewWe are currently seeking an E and I Engineer to join our Greatham Engineering team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maximising plant availability by optimising and improving reliability performance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop detailed technical specifications for plant instrument equipment and repairs, ensuring adherence to required standards.
- Provide technical support to the plant team, actively participating in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
- Contribute to PM events and outages, resolving emergent issues and specifying work requirements.
- Stay updated on latest technologies and techniques, driving continuous improvement of plant reliability through identification and implementation of opportunities.
- Participate in safety reviews, committees, risk assessments, and incident investigations, providing technical input and completing necessary actions.
- Maintain and update the area E and I life plan, recommending timely CAPEX replacement and repair.
- Ensure adherence to site engineering standards, promoting a right-first-time approach.
- Perform thorough E and I engineering assessment of plant modifications to mitigate risks associated with technology changes, operating methods, equipment, and staffing adjustments.
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
- A HND in Instrumentation Engineering and significant experience working in a 24/7 industrial environment, including support maintenance, complex fault finding, operations planning, and project management.
- Membership in a professional body, ideally with Incorporated Engineer status.
- At least 5 years of industry experience in the Upper Tier COMAH manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
- A good working knowledge of functional safety and experience with IEC 61508 and 61511 standards.
- Familiarity with relevant standards associated with SIL Assessment and the management and maintenance of Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Knowledge of MOD300 and Delta V DCS Systems.
- Proven ability to lead problem-solving teams and think critically.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the capacity to mobilise technical contributors across different levels within a manufacturing organisation.
