Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dynamic and friendly team at Balmoral Gate in Glasgow. As a Senior Support Worker, you will be responsible for coaching and mentoring your team, providing regular support, and identifying training needs. You will also be responsible for producing the monthly rotas, while considering budgetary requirements and ensuring that all staff meet their contracted hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor team members to provide high-quality support to individuals with mental health, learning disability, and autism needs.
  • Develop and implement person-centred support plans in collaboration with external health professionals and supported individuals.
  • Match individuals with staff members, considering specific outcomes and goals set for each individual.
  • Produce monthly rotas, ensuring budgetary requirements are met and staff contracted hours are fulfilled.
  • Liaise with external health professionals and facilitate meetings with supported individuals and important people in their lives.
  • On-call duties will be allocated to you on a rotational basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum of at least 2 years previous experience of supporting individuals within care.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Good understanding of SSSC Codes of Practice and Health & Social Care Standards.
  • SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or be willing to work towards your qualification.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive and professional relationships with supported individuals, families, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to motivate and lead others.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with individuals who have autism and a knowledge of positive behaviour approaches to support.
  • Have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
