About the Role

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a skilled Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner to join our team in the inpatient rehabilitation setting. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing support to the therapy team in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out treatment programs under the guidance of a registered therapist to provide rehabilitation and other interventions to facilitate safe discharge.
  • Undertake clerical and administration tasks, including keeping records, filing, photocopying, statistics, and data collection.
  • Work independently and as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide a positive and organized approach to rehabilitation.
  • Develop good communication skills and commitment to multi-disciplinary team working within a safe, empathetic, and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • NVQ 3 level or equivalent knowledge of specific patient conditions or level 3 certificate in personal training/fitness instruction.
  • Experience of working as Band 3 in healthcare or equivalent experience from the leisure or social care sector.
  • Standard keyboard skills and familiarity with computer software, including word processing, email, and Excel.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Basic understanding of proper and safe use of therapy equipment.
  • Experience of delivering rehabilitation with patient/service users that require high levels of supervision and advanced communication techniques.
  • Involvement in service development and experience of data collection and analysis.
