About the Role
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking a Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner to join our inpatient rehabilitation team in Ysbyty Cwm Cynon, Mountain Ash.
As a Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner, you will work alongside experienced physiotherapy clinicians and other members of the multidisciplinary team to provide rehabilitation and other interventions to facilitate safe discharge.
You will carry out treatment programs under the guidance of a registered therapist and be responsible for your own caseload, working both individually and alongside other members of the team.
The successful candidate will have experience of working as Band 3 in healthcare or equivalent experience from the leisure or social care sector and possess standard keyboard skills and familiarity of computer software, including word processing, email, and Excel.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide support to the therapy team on the inpatient wards and therapy gym setting in the day-to-day assessments of patients and delivery of Physiotherapy treatment programs.
- Be involved in assessment, progression, and discharge planning of patients and utilize rehabilitation programs.
- Be responsible for gathering information about home circumstances, completing specific functional assessments, ordering equipment if needed, and providing rehabilitation and planning discharges.
Requirements
- NVQ 3 level or equivalent knowledge of specific patient conditions or level 3 certificate in personal training/fitness instruction.
- Basic understanding of proper and safe use of therapy equipment.
