About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Vehicle Technician to join our team at South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. As a Vehicle Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet of vehicles, which are essential for providing emergency and urgent care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a range of vehicles and equipment to the highest standards.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults using diagnostic equipment and technical expertise.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve targets and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and components used.
  • Contribute to a safe and healthy working environment by adhering to health and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • HND in Mechanical/Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • Recognised Motor Vehicle Indentured Apprenticeship or training scheme.
  • Motor Vehicle Craft Studies Parts 1, 2 & 3 or Motor Vehicle Technicians Parts 1, 2 & 3 or BTEC equivalent.
  • Current clean driving license.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified to C1E+D1E driving license.
  • Significant experience of fault finding/diagnosis within a vehicle/electronic/mechanical/engineering field.
  • Proficient experience of using diagnostic equipment to fault find within a medical device and equipment capacity.
  • Previous experience of using a variety of complex tools and equipment to carry out technical/engineering repairs.
