About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing high-quality mental health services to students. As a Mental Health Liaison Practitioner, you will be responsible for assessing the mental health needs of students, developing and implementing care plans, and providing consultation and liaison services to clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' mental health needs, identifying areas of concern and developing individualized care plans.
- Provide consultation and liaison services to clinical teams, assisting them in formulating appropriate plans of care and making decisions in complex cases.
- Initiate and participate in teaching and educational programs for nursing and non-nursing staff, promoting best practices in mental health care.
- Develop and implement quality assurance initiatives, focusing on patient-centered services and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with primary health care and secondary mental health services to ensure seamless care coordination.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong clinical skills and experience in mental health assessment and care planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and external agencies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of the service.
- Sound understanding of legal and ethical issues in mental health care, including the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
