Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in improving children and young people's timely access to CAMHS services.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a newly developed service, utilizing the i-Thrive framework to provide assessment and treatment of children and young people with serious and complex mental health difficulties. You will hold a caseload of young people from triage to assessment, offering evidence-based intervention and through to discharge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work within a highly experienced multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment and treatment of children and young people with serious and complex mental health difficulties.
  • Hold a caseload of young people from the point of triage to assessment, offering evidence-based intervention and through to discharge.
  • Work with and support the system around the child or young person, including family and wider professional network.
  • Contribute to CAMHS Triage and Getting Advice within Bristol and South Glos and North Somerset.
  • Work with children, young people, and families in an accessible and flexible approach using an outreach model.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current registration with the NMC, Allied Health Professional with HCPC registration, or UKCP registration and commitment to CPD.
  • Experience of using assessment skills of mental illness and risk in children and young people.
  • Working knowledge of how specialist child and adolescent mental health services are organised and operate.
  • Ability to engage effectively with young people, families, and carers, as well as professionals from a wide range of services.
