Austin Fraser is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper and Accountant to join our team.

Salary: £25-£35 per hour (Negotiable depending on experience)

Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled bookkeeper and accountant to manage our financial operations. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and issuing invoices, recording cash and cheque receipts, conducting monthly bank account reconciliations, and ensuring timely submission of payroll reports.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline and relevant experience in a similar role. They should also have knowledge of Microsoft Office and Xero Accounting software.

In this role, you will work closely with our external accountant to ensure financial information is up-to-date and accurate. You will also be responsible for providing financial support associated with our Integrated Management System and contract management.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and issue invoices and financial statements to customers/clients;
  2. Record cash and cheque receipts and make bank deposits;
  3. Conduct a monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy;
  4. Work closely with the external accountant to ensure financial information is provided/shared, and all tasks are up-to-date in accordance with any associated deadline dates;
  5. Calculate and issue financial analysis of the financial statements to the Director as required;
  6. Utilisation of HM Revenue and Customs' (HMRC) PAYE Online Service to ensure payroll reports/forms are submitted timely and all associated payments made in accordance with deadline dates;
  7. Process payroll in a timely manner ensuring accuracy, records are maintained, and payments made in accordance with company timelines;
  8. Provide financial support associated with the Integrated Management System;
  9. Provide contract management support in relation to performance and analysis, i.e. Key Performance Indicators;
  10. Maintain an orderly accounting/financial filing system;
  11. To comply with all company policies and procedures;
  12. To comply with the company's Integrated Management System and in accordance with UKAS Certification BS ISO9001:2015, BSI ISO 45001:2018 and BS ISO 14001:2015.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline;
  • Relevant experience in a similar role;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Xero Accounting software;
