Senior Support Worker

At Lily Housing Project Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, person-centred support to young people aged 16-21, promoting their independence and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate the day-to-day running of our projects, ensuring consistency in service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain individual support plans, recording safeguarding monitoring and actions, risk assessments, and coordinating the provision of high-quality, individualized support to vulnerable residents.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including health and social care, children's services, YOT, Police, Education, housing benefit, and universal credit, to ensure rent management is maximized.
  • Liaise with residents to prioritize resident involvement, team meetings, and feedback, promoting resident ownership and positive emotional health and wellbeing.
  • Run daily morning meetings to organize daily responsibilities and jobs, while managing staffing resources for the day.
  • Check rotas and calendars for project and ensure effective support of residents.
  • Ensure records of support provision and risks are accurately maintained.
  • Monitor service systems according to policy and procedure, e.g., fire checks, visitor records, welfare checks, etc.
  • On-call monitor - Senior Support Worker will be responsible for ensuring they are aware of any out-of-hours activity, communicating with out-of-hours staff where appropriate for updates.
  • Involve all team members in promoting team camaraderie and morale.
  • Office area supervision - Encourage healthy engagement with residents - Lily ethos 'out of office space'. All team members, including Senior Support Workers, to be encouraged to use laptops in shared areas and meet with residents in other rooms where appropriate.
  • Senior Support Workers will be responsible for ensuring the team offers weekly life skills and programs of support are planned and offered to residents.
  • Keep projects clean and tidy, ideally with resident involvement.
Requirements:
  • Experience in dealing with challenging situations and/or behaviors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with children, families, colleagues, and external organizations.
  • Ideal experience in a senior support worker or support worker setting and hold, or are working towards, a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A driving license is required.
