Immunisation Nurse Position

We are seeking a skilled Immunisation Nurse to join our team at Hounslow & Richmond Community Healthcare Trust. As a member of the School Age Vaccination Service (SAV), you will play a crucial role in supporting the safe delivery and triage of nasal flu and other vaccination programs.
Main Responsibilities:- Assess young people and understand the pre-requisites for administering immunisations, including contraindications, aftercare, and relevant advice.
- Contribute to the identification and protection of children at risk of abuse, adhering to local Safeguarding Children's Board guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date statutory and mandatory training, including CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Immunisation training.
- Foster effective communication and liaison with nursing disciplines and allied professions.
- Provide support, mentorship, guidance, and supervision to junior and non-qualified staff members within the School Nursing service.
- Administer vaccines according to the national immunisation schedule.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of immunisations given.
- Provide education and information to patients and families about immunisation, including potential side effects and vaccine importance.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions following immunisation.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as doctors, pharmacists, and social workers.
- Participate in public health initiatives and campaigns promoting immunisation.
The role may involve travel to various locations, including schools, community centres, and other settings.
