About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Catering Manager to join our team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As a key member of our Catering Services team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and developing patient services within our hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of catering staff to ensure high-quality food services are delivered to patients and staff.
- Develop and implement menus that meet nutritional standards and medical requirements, including low-fat, gluten-free, and vegetarian options.
- Manage budgets, order and control stock, and supervise catering staff to ensure meals are prepared and served correctly.
- Liaise with dietitians and dietetic assistants to plan meals for patients on special diets.
- Work with chefs and cooks to plan menus and ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.

Person Specification
Essential
- Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management Association Professional Qualification or equivalent level of experience.
- Level 2/3 Certificate in Food Safety in Catering.
- Advanced Food Hygiene Diploma to degree level equivalent.
- Proven experience working in Catering Management or a senior supervisory position.
- Line management including coaching and staff development and managing employee relations issues.
Desirable
- Accredited to a relevant professional body such as British Institute of Cleaning Sciences (BICS).
- Knowledge of service related to Care Quality Commission (CQC) Standards.
