Head Chef Opportunity at Queens View Harbour Care Home

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team at Queens View Harbour Care Home. As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our care home, ensuring that our residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and cook meals for our residents, taking into account their dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure that they are following proper food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and receiving supplies, and maintaining accurate records of food supplies and freezer/fridge temperatures.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment and utensils are clean and well-maintained, and that the kitchen area is kept clean and tidy.
  • Collaborate with the Home Manager to plan menus and ensure that they are within budget.

Requirements:

  • City & Guilds 706 1 & 2, or equivalent qualification (achieved or working towards)
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Previous management or supervisory experience (desirable)
