About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Ormston School in Leeds. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils in a secondary setting, working closely with the classroom teacher to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning and development
  • Assisting the classroom teacher with lesson planning and delivery
  • Reporting on pupil progress and concerns
  • Supervising pupils during non-classroom time
  • Building positive relationships with pupils and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes

Requirements:

  • Strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics
  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally as a Teaching Assistant
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
  • Ability to take additional responsibility in an area of school
  • Experience of behaviour management and techniques
  • Commitment to professional development and willingness to learn
