We are partnering with a renowned social enterprise in the education sector to find a Senior Policy Strategist for their team in London.

Our client aims to bridge the educational gap by providing support and resources to teachers and school leaders. To achieve this vision, they need an experienced policy strategist who can develop impactful strategies and systems to disseminate key ideas, particularly leading up to elections.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of External Relations and play a pivotal role in driving campaigns that bring about lasting change and elevate the charity's reputation among diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop policy strategies to drive progress in education for disadvantaged youth while increasing awareness of the charity.
  • Serve as the primary expert on policy matters and build strong relationships with colleagues to secure support for this work.
  • Provide informed counsel to senior colleagues on policy and the political landscape, develop key analysis, and collaborate with the media team to craft engaging stories for press that attract new audiences.
  • Create policy proposals, reports, papers, briefings, consultation responses, and social media posts with clarity.
  • Establish and maintain key relationships with individuals, think tanks, research organizations, and the civil service, gathering insights from the organization's network to inform policy proposals.
  • Monitor progress and contribute proactively as a member of the team, developing goals and engaging with audiences throughout the policy change process.

Key Requirements:

  • A seasoned policy expert with significant experience in developing leading strategies that achieve lasting impact in a relevant sector.
  • A leader and campaigner with experience in growing an organization's brand and reputation.
  • An effective driver of change who can galvanize internal and external stakeholders in fast-paced environments, as well as being an effective team player.
  • Previous experience in managing and securing funding for budgets.
  • Proficient in interpreting data, identifying trends, and succinctly highlighting new angles on issues as well as proposing policy solutions.
  • Committed to advancing diversity and inclusion.

We estimate the salary range for this position to be between £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
