Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Veolia ES (UK) LIMITED. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of mechanical engineers and fitters, working on complex asset overhauls and replacements, and undertaking mechanical repairs and modifications on dewatering equipment, pumps, pipework, valves, and other ancillary equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of mechanical engineers and fitters on site
  • Carry out complex asset overhauls and replacements
  • Undertake mechanical repairs and modifications on dewatering equipment, pumps, pipework, valves, and other ancillary equipment
  • Work under CDM regulations on projects
  • Responsible for day-to-day on-site supervision of employees and subcontractors
  • Undertake standby cover and overtime as required
  • Complete test reports, installation certificates, and customer feedback documents
  • Complete customer paperwork, including permits to work and safety paperwork
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in an industrial environment
  • Experience leading mechanical installation, maintenance, or servicing works
  • Experience in leading the replacement of assets and maintaining equipment typically found on water and sewage treatment plants
  • NVQ or a recognized apprenticeship in mechanical engineering maintenance at Level 3
  • Full UK driving license
  • Compex trained
  • SSSTS card
  • Confined space trained
  • First aid trained
  • IOSH trained
