Job Title: Senior Centrifuge Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Centrifuge Engineer to join our team at Veolia. As a Senior Centrifuge Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of mechanical engineers and fitters, carrying out complex asset overhauls and replacements, and undertaking mechanical repairs and modifications of dewatering equipment, pumps, pipework, valves, and other ancillary equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of mechanical engineers and fitters in the installation, maintenance, and repair of dewatering equipment and ancillaries on sewage and clean water treatment facilities.
  • Carry out complex asset overhauls and replacements, including mechanical repairs and modifications of dewatering equipment, pumps, pipework, valves, and other ancillary equipment.
  • Work under CDM regulations on project work, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Responsible for day-to-day on-site supervision of employees and subcontractors, ensuring efficient and safe working practices.
  • Undertake standby cover and overtime as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the role.
  • Complete test reports, installation certificates, and customer feedback documents, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Work alongside on-site customer teams and subcontractors, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in an industrial environment, with a strong background in mechanical engineering maintenance.
  • Experience leading mechanical installation, maintenance, or servicing works, with a proven track record of success.
  • NVQ or a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering maintenance at Level 3, demonstrating a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles.
  • Full UK Driving License, with a clean driving record.
  • Compex Trained, with a strong understanding of electrical systems and safety protocols.
  • SSSTS Card, demonstrating a commitment to health and safety standards.
  • Confined Space Trained, with a strong understanding of confined space safety procedures.
  • First Aid Trained, with a strong understanding of first aid principles and practices.
  • IOSH Trained, with a strong understanding of occupational health and safety standards.
Desirable:
  • Clean Water Qualification, demonstrating a strong understanding of clean water treatment processes.
  • SHEA Water Qualification, demonstrating a strong understanding of water treatment safety protocols.
  • DSEAR Awareness, with a strong understanding of hazardous materials handling and safety procedures.
  • PASMA Trained, with a strong understanding of mobile access equipment safety procedures.
