Senior Role in Mental Health

We are seeking an experienced Adult Psychiatry Consultant to lead our mental health team. As a senior member, you will provide high-quality care to patients with complex mental health needs, while developing the skills and knowledge of junior colleagues.

The successful candidate will have expertise in working with survivors of acquired brain injury, individuals with neurodegenerative conditions, and complex physical health conditions. They will manage the medical service, evaluating its effectiveness through audits, and ensuring that clinical policy and practice are research-based and of excellent standard.

You will work closely with external stakeholders to map and facilitate the service users' journey back into the community. The role also involves contributing to the training, education, and development of staff of all disciplines. A strong understanding of current developments in psychiatry and other aspects of mental health is essential.

Competitive Remuneration Package

We offer a competitive annual salary of £120,000, including a £8,400 car allowance and a £8,000 relocation benefit. Other benefits include 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off, a Group Personal Pension Plan (GPPP) and pension contribution, life assurance, free meals while on duty, career development and training, wellbeing support, and medical indemnity cover.

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Manage and evaluate the medical service through audits, ensuring clinical policy, practice, and its application are research-based and of an excellent standard.

  • Contribute to the training, education, and development of staff of all disciplines.
  • Have an understanding of current developments in psychiatry and other aspects of mental health.
  • Have knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, contemporary cases in mental and physical health.
