The Catering Assistant Role:

This part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to join our team in Carlisle. As a Catering Assistant, you will be responsible for serving food and beverages, handling cash transactions, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Serving Food and Beverages: Prepare and serve hot and cold food from behind the counter, making beverages using machines, and replenishing stock as needed.
  2. Cash Handling: Operate the till, handle customer payments, and maintain accurate financial records.
  3. Customer Service: Engage with customers in a positive and friendly manner, answer questions about menu items, and promote daily specials and meal deals.
  4. Hygiene and Cleaning: Maintain a clean and safe environment by clearing tables, sweeping floors, and adhering to health and safety standards.
  5. Kitchen Liaison: Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure that food is cooked and the counter is ready for service during busy periods.

Requirements:

  1. Strong Work Ethic: Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  2. Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing exceptional customer experiences.
  3. Previous Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a catering environment (e.g., restaurant, café, fast food business).
  4. Training and Development: Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities, with a proactive approach to professional development.

Working Conditions:

The successful candidate will work 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 2pm-10pm. This part-time position offers a flexible schedule and a competitive hourly rate of £11.44.
