Automation Manager

Novanta is seeking an experienced Automation Manager to join our Laser Quantum business unit in Stockport. As a key member of our R&D, Engineering, and Manufacturing team, you will be responsible for introducing and implementing automation into our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine manufacturing processes for automation opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Create and implement automated mounting and assembly processes.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing productivity control (SPC) through automated assembly processes.
  • Measure and verify manufacturing process KPIs and adapt automated processes to meet productivity and quality targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement automation solutions.
  • Train and mentor production employees and supervisors on new work procedures and manufacturing processes.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in automation engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with creating and implementing automated processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational and timekeeping skills.
