About the Role

American International Group (AIG) is seeking a highly skilled Lead Capital Modeller to join our Economic Capital Modelling Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and testing of our new capital model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of our new capital model, ensuring it aligns with our risk profile and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Enterprise Risk Management, Actuarial, Underwriting, and Finance, to gather business requirements and design the model.
  • Work with the Capital Modelling Team to identify and implement advanced uses of the Economic Capital Models, including portfolio management, capital management, reinsurance, risk management, and asset management.
  • Present model changes and developments to Risk Committees.

Requirements

  • Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary.
  • Extensive experience as a General Insurance Economic Capital Modeller.
  • Experience with stochastic modelling techniques, including insurance risk, market and credit risk, operational risk, reinsurance, and aggregation methods.
  • Knowledge and experience in the regulation of Solvency II and other related regulatory regimes.
  • Experience in large projects and team coordination.
  • Strong quality control and review skills, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write reports and deliver presentations.
