Group Tax Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Group Tax Accountant to join our Finance team at Aston Martin F1 Team.
Corporation Tax
- Full ownership and management of the group's corporation tax compliance process, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to HMRC.
- Proactive delivery of a best-in-class tax advisory service to the business, providing expert guidance on tax planning and optimization.
- Close integration with the broader Finance team to ensure taxes are fully considered throughout key business decisions, driving strategic growth and profitability.
- Ownership of the capital allowances process, ensuring adequate analysis and documentary support is generated and maintained, maximizing tax benefits.
- Close collaboration with the Financial Accounting team and external auditors to support robust and accurate external tax reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
R&D Tax Credits
- Full ownership of the R&D tax credit claim process, being the lead contact for our external professional advisors, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Proactive engagement with the business to ensure R&D tax credits are maximized within the legislative framework, driving innovation and growth.
- Partnership with the business to ensure data is captured at source to support robust R&D tax credit submissions to HMRC, minimizing errors and delays.
- Close collaboration with Finance colleagues to ensure R&D tax credits are robustly forecast as part of the overall business budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycle, driving informed decision-making.
Withholding Taxes
- Full ownership of the group's global withholding tax process and obligations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and minimizing tax liabilities.
VAT
- Manage the end-to-end process and be the point of contact for the business for all aspects of VAT, both UK and overseas, ensuring seamless compliance and minimizing tax risks.
- Manage regulatory and reporting requirements to mitigate compliance risks and maximize cash flow, driving business efficiency and profitability.
- Drive recovery of global VAT to minimize the cost to the group, ensuring optimal tax outcomes.
- Maintain a technical expertise to ensure global VAT is managed efficiently but in compliance with laws in all relevant jurisdictions, minimizing tax liabilities.
Import and Export Taxes and Duties
- Develop robust processes to ensure imports and exports are handled in the most cost-effective and compliant manner, minimizing tax risks and maximizing cash flow.
- Engage with non-Finance colleagues to ensure import and export risks and opportunities are promptly identified and addressed, driving business growth and profitability.
Payroll Taxes
- Support HR colleagues with payroll tax planning and compliance matters, ensuring seamless coordination and minimizing tax liabilities.
Group-Wide
- Lead the group's response to all HMRC inquiries and similar activities, ensuring timely and accurate responses, minimizing tax risks and liabilities.
- Proactively identify and assess potential business impacts resulting from upcoming changes to tax legislation, driving informed decision-making and strategic growth.
- Full ownership of all tax compliance matters across the group, ensuring seamless coordination and minimizing tax risks.
Business Improvement and Education
- Proactively assess and drive improvements to business processes across all taxes, ensuring seamless compliance and minimizing tax liabilities.
- Develop and deliver a plan to increase awareness and understanding across the wider business in relation to current tax risks and opportunities and upcoming changes to tax legislation, driving informed decision-making and strategic growth.
Assist the Group Financial Controller, and other members of the finance team, with ad-hoc requests as required, ensuring seamless support and minimizing tax risks.

Qualifications
CTA part-qualified minimum
Experience
Experience in a similar role within a dynamic, fast-paced group environment
Corporate Tax and R&D tax credit experience
Experience of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders
Knowledge and Skills
Broad technical understanding across the full range of UK taxes
Excellent organizational skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities and comfortable working with stakeholders of all levels
Numeracy and an eye for detail, capable of working quickly to a high standard of accuracy
Ability to communicate information effectively verbally and in writing with use of graphical tools as necessary
Expert in use of the Microsoft 365 suite of products
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
High integrity and accountability
Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing in an organized and accurate manner within tight deadlines, keeping calm and focused
Knowledge of working within professional accounting standards and legislation and their application
Enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop, and maintain good working relationships with colleagues
