Job Title: Senior Building Surveyor and Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor and Project Manager to join our team at Rogers McHugh Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading building surveying and project management services, using your expertise to guide clients on technical, commercial, and regulatory property issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys, identify defects, and provide solutions on property-related issues including repairs, dilapidations, building regulations, and environmental matters.
  • Develop project briefs, oversee budgets and cost plans, manage tender processes, and ensure projects are delivered on time, maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage a team of surveyors, ensuring they are responsive, meet deadlines, and deliver quality work. Provide guidance to junior staff, promote professional development, and ensure team adherence to company values.
  • Ensure all documentation, from technical reports to project briefs, meets the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Promote sustainability in projects, advise clients on integrating eco-friendly solutions, and contribute to the company's environmental and social responsibility efforts.
  • Handle billing, invoicing, and tracking project costs, ensuring all financial aspects are managed efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on all sites, conducting risk assessments and promoting a safe working environment for staff, contractors, and clients.

Requirements:

  • Degree in construction or a related field (minimum 2:1).
  • Proven experience managing refurbishment projects exceeding £1m.
  • Line management experience and the ability to lead teams effectively.
  • Expertise in both technical building surveying and project management.
  • Leadership: Capable of managing teams, mentoring junior staff, and driving team performance.
  • Professionalism: Well-presented, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and prioritize workloads independently.
  • Sustainability: Knowledge of integrating sustainability and environmental considerations into construction projects.
