About the Role


We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Systems Expert to join our team at Ramboll in the United Kingdom. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with expertise in electrical infrastructure projects and a strong track record of delivering results.



Job Description



  • The successful candidate will work on a wide range of electrical infrastructure projects, providing expert advice on future loads, feasibility of proposed solutions, and impact assessments on the grid at local, regional, or national levels.
  • They will also be responsible for developing connection strategies, high-level equipment sizing, single-line diagrams, and spatial designs of new substations across voltage levels (up to 33 kV).
  • In addition, they will provide technical support to the leadership team and develop detailed designs of electrical infrastructure.
  • They will also update the team regularly on policy/regulation/market changes that might impact electrical infrastructure solutions.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and be able to manage multiple projects and conflicting deadlines.


Requirements



  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is essential, as well as significant experience working with distribution network operators, independent network connection providers, and other market entities in the UK.
  • The successful candidate will also have a working knowledge of grid code compliance requirements, experience working in accordance with DNO standard documents, reviewing single-line diagrams and designs.
  • They should also have a strong commercial understanding of the customer base and their business drivers.
  • Possession of Chartered Engineer status or membership of a relevant engineering institution such as the Institution of Engineering and Technology would be desirable but not essential.
