About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Integrated Mental Health and Substance Misuse Team at HMP Isle of Wight. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to individuals in custody, working collaboratively with other professionals to deliver a comprehensive and dynamic service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based interventions and manage a caseload of individuals with mental health needs.

• Conduct assessments and reviews, using the Care Programme Approach to develop and implement personalized care plans.

• Facilitate therapeutic group work and deliver evidenced-based interventions.

• Identify individuals requiring hospital treatment and facilitate timely transfers under the Mental Health Act.

• Line manage a Band 5 nurse, providing supervision and support.

Person Specification

• Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register.

• Evidence of recent CPD and compliance with NMC revalidation.

• Teaching Certificate including annual update (ENB 603) or related mentoring/coaching qualification.

• Considerable experience of working in the mental health field.

• Experience of providing specialist interventions for those with mental health problems, counselling techniques, CBT, motivational interviewing.

• Providing supervision and line management of staff.
