Job Summary

The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation of the electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) project, which aims to transform the health board's medicines management processes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with ward teams to ensure current processes are captured and prepare for future state processes.
  • Utilise specialist pharmaceutical knowledge and experience to configure the ePMA system, streamlining prescribing practice in line with local and national guidelines.
  • Support the development and testing of training material for staff.
  • Deliver training across the health board to various staff groups.
  • Support the team in transitioning to business as usual.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join a dynamic team and contribute to the successful implementation of the ePMA project. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as a strong understanding of pharmacy systems and medicines management.

Requirements
  • BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Medicines Management qualified.
  • ACPT qualified.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Service Improvement Qualification - Silver.
  • Management/Leadership Qualification.
  • Previous experience of training staff.
  • Experience of working with an ePMA/EPR system.
  • Management/supervisory experience.
Special Knowledge and Personal Qualities
  • Computing skills, ability to use Microsoft office applications.
  • Relevant pharmaceutical, legal and professional legislation.
  • Well-motivated, reliable, methodical.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.
