About the Role

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Optimisation team at NHS Suffolk and North East Essex ICB. The successful candidate will work closely with GP practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across West Suffolk, building trusted relationships and supporting the implementation of medicines optimisation initiatives in primary care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of medicines optimisation strategies across West Suffolk and SNEE.
  • Work with GP practices and PCNs to improve health outcomes, reduce avoidable harm, and avoid waste.
  • Provide up-to-date, unbiased information about medicines, treatments, and care pathways.
  • Support practitioners and patients to make the best use of medicines.
  • Minimise the harm caused by medicines.
  • Support the development of local guidelines and care pathways to optimise the use of medicines.
  • Support other health and care providers to deliver medicines optimisation in a safe, high-quality, timely, effective, and equitable manner.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent Pharmacy Technician qualification.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Experience of working in health or social care.
  • Experience of delivering contentious information and/or challenging inappropriate behaviour.
  • Experience in using sources of prescribing data such as Open Prescribing and PrescQIPP.
