About the Role

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join their expanding Digital Medicines team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation of the electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) project, working closely with project management teams, clinicians, nurses, and the ePMA supplier.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with ward teams to ensure current processes are captured and prepare for future state processes.
  • Utilise specialist pharmaceutical knowledge and experience to configure the ePMA system, streamlining prescribing practice in line with local and national guidelines.
  • Support the development and testing of training material for staff.
  • Deliver training across the health board to various staff groups.
  • Support the team in business as usual.

Requirements

  • BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Science.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Medicines Management qualified.
  • ACPT qualified.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Service Improvement Qualification - Silver.
  • Management/Leadership Qualification.
  • Previous experience of training staff.
  • Experience of working with an ePMA/EPR system.
  • Management/supervisory experience.

Special Knowledge and Personal Qualities

  • Computing skills, ability to use Microsoft office applications.
  • Relevant pharmaceutical, legal, and professional legislation.
  • Well-motivated, reliable, methodical.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on own initiative.

  • Able to develop new procedures and initiate them.
  • Commitment to continuing education.
