HEAD CHEF

The Roseate Edinburgh Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and oversee the culinary operations of our boutique hotel. Located in the heart of Edinburgh, our hotel offers a luxurious and stylish city retreat with an authentic Scottish soul.

We are looking for a Head Chef who can demonstrate genuine dedication and a commitment to consistent quality in our products and services. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef, with a proven track record of kitchen and staff management.

The successful Head Chef will be responsible for producing high-quality plates, helping in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus, and ensuring that the kitchen operates in a timely manner that meets our quality standards. They will also be responsible for ordering supplies, maintaining a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers, and complying with and enforcing sanitation regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality plates both design and taste wise
  • Help in the preparation and design of all food and drinks menus
  • Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff's performance
  • Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately
  • Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef is mandatory and must have previously worked in fine dining restaurant
  • Good knowledge in pastry would be a bonus
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions
  • Familiar with industry's best practices
