Job Description

Job Title: Senior Electrical Instrumentation Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Instrumentation Specialist to join our team at Imerys Aluminates site in West Thurrock. As a key member of our industrial engineering team, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving electrical and automation equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute electrical, automation, and instrumentation work, including inspection, auditing, calibration, spare parts, drawings, risk assessments, and reactive and preventive maintenance.
  • Operate, manage, and maintain Siemens automation systems, including fault finding, programming, and updating.
  • Manage ECI compliance and statutory activities, including fixed wire testing, HV maintenance, earthing tests, PAT, and arc flash testing.
  • Work on and manage high-voltage (HV) networks and drives.
  • Manage ECI projects, including designs, specifications, documentation, contract management, installation, commissioning, spare parts, and training.
  • Participate in training, development, and appointment of other industrial engineers.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical, control, and instrumentation systems, including valves, sensors, probes, and control circuits.
  • Proven experience of fault finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Control/Automation Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience of programming, editing, and fault finding on Siemens systems (PCS7), SCADA systems (WinCC), and communication networks.
  • Strong understanding and experience of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and process systems.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD and Trimble.
  • Hold a Health and Safety NEBOSH or IOSH Certification.
