About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Imerys Aluminates. As a Senior Electrical and Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving electrical and automation equipment and systems for our industrial production site.

Main Responsibilities
  • Site Electrical Duty Holder: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems on site.
  • Electrical and Automation Work Management: Manage and execute electrical, automation, and instrumentation work, including inspection, auditing, calibration, spare parts, drawings, risk assessments, and reactive and preventive maintenance.
  • Siemens Automation Systems Management: Operate, manage, and maintain Siemens automation systems, including fault finding, programming, and updating.
  • ECI Compliance and Statutory Activities: Manage ECI compliance and statutory activities, including fixed wire testing, HV maintenance, earthing tests, PAT, arc flash testing, and more.
  • High Voltage Network and Drives Management: Work on and manage high voltage (HV) network and drives.
  • ECI Projects Management: Manage ECI projects, including designs, specifications, documentation, contract management, installation, commissioning, spare parts, and training.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to Health & Safety standards and ensure all ECI tasks are performed in compliance with regulations and company procedures.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training, development, and appointment of other industrial engineers.
  • Technical Support: Respond to after-hours consultation and provide technical support during equipment failures.

Requirements
  • Strong Understanding of Industrial Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation Systems
  • Proven Experience of Fault Finding, Diagnostic, and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Control/Automation Engineering or Related Engineering Discipline
  • Previous Experience of Working in a Similar Role within a Heavy Production/Manufacturing/Process Environment
  • Experience of Programming, Editing, and Fault Finding on Siemens Systems (PCS7), SCADA Systems (WinCC), and Communication Network (e.g., Profibus and Profinet)
  • Strong Understanding and Experience of Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Process Systems
  • Ability to Use AutoCAD and Trimble
  • Health and Safety NEBOSH or IOSH Certification
  • Legally Able to Drive in the UK
