Clinical Applications Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Applications Specialist to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the efficient delivery of a second-line support service for our clinical and non-clinical applications, focusing on the delivery to internal service level agreements.
The ideal candidate will have experience of providing support for Clinical Applications, with a strong understanding of digital/IT clinical systems change/project management. They will also have advanced systems development skills and technical knowledge across a broad range of clinical systems and software.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of application-based projects such as new implementations and upgrades. They will also be responsible for collaborating with the digital teams and clinical users in relation to the implementation and strategic development of electronic patient records and diagnostic systems within the Trust.
We are looking for a flexible, self-motivated and organised individual with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritise workload and deliver to deadlines. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly to meet the demands of a 24/7 organisation, as well as occasionally work outside of the core working hours to support configuration changes and system upgrades.
Main Duties- Lead on designated areas of responsibility to support the Clinical Applications Team Leaders to ensure system downtime is minimised and associated risks are mitigated.
- Lead on designated areas of responsibility towards the planning of improvements to ensure systems are reliable and resilient, and that robust arrangements for maintenance are in place and regularly reviewed.
- Take the lead on configuration and build optimisation for new and existing clinical applications.
