About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a key member of our psycho-oncology service, you will work closely with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to provide specialist psychological support and interventions.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology, with experience in working with patients with cancer and their families. You will be able to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessments and interventions for patients with cancer and their families
  • Work closely with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training and education programs for healthcare professionals
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of service policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Postgraduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS
  • Eligibility for registration with HCPC as a practitioner psychologist
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS/HCPC
