About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join the Devices Hardware Engineering team at Roku. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and leading exciting new products through the complete design lifecycle, from concept to mass production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and own the complete electrical system, including BOM, schematics, and PCB.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Software, Mechanical Engineering, and Program Management.
  • Select components based on performance, reliability, availability, cost, environmental, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Plan and lead validation of your designs.
  • Support factory builds, assisting with factory test, failure analysis, and traveling for on-site support as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hardware engineering experience in embedded system design.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Track record of shipping high-volume consumer electronic products.
  • Solid experience working with JDMs/ODMs/OEMs/CMs.
  • Proficient with the OrCAD design suite (Altium/Mentor PADS).
  • In-depth knowledge of PCB layout requirements and design rules.
  • Strong technical skills, including schematic design, high-speed signal propagation, DDR interfaces, power delivery, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, thermal analysis, ESD, and audio subsystems.
  • Comfortable with tools such as high-speed oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, audio analyzers, and thermal chambers.
  • Ability to write low-level test software for HW validation (nice to have).
