Job Role: Support Worker - Care Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at ILS Case Management, providing high-quality care and support to a young man with dystonic Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of daily care needs, including transfers, monitoring of seizures, and engaging in social activities within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with personal care needs, including hoisting and transfers.
- Monitor and respond to seizures, providing comfort and reassurance as needed.
- Engage in social activities within the community, including outings and therapy sessions.
- Assist with domestic tasks, including cleaning and laundry.
- Work collaboratively with the client's family and multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care and support.
About the Client:
The client is a young man with dystonic Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy, who requires assistance with all aspects of daily care needs. He is a full-time user of a wheelchair and requires hoisting for transfers. The client enjoys social activities, including outings and therapy sessions, and requires support with domestic tasks.
Requirements:
- Experience working with individuals with Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy.
- Ability to provide high-quality care and support, including personal care and domestic tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the client's family and multidisciplinary team.
Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate of £15.00 per hour (Monday to Friday) and £16.00 per hour (weekends).
- On-going training and support provided.
- 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata.
- Free DBS check.
