Job Title: Thoracic Nurse Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Thoracic Nurse Specialist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in nursing, with a focus on thoracic care. They will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care pathways.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide pre-operative assessments for patients undergoing thoracic surgery
  • Offer psychological support to patients diagnosed with cancer
  • Liaise with lung nurse specialists, Consultant surgeons, Anaesthetists, and MDT teams to ensure quality care

Requirements:

  • Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
  • Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
  • Evidence of supporting learners in practice
  • Completion of all Nurse Practitioner competencies
  • Evidence of on-going personal and professional development
  • Significant Post Registration Experience within chosen specialty
