Accounting Assistant Role Overview
Lloyd Barnes Accountancy Recruitment Careers is seeking a skilled Accounting Assistant to support the financial operations of our client, a thriving and rapidly expanding company based in Somerset. As the Accounting Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily financial operations, and preparing financial reports.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including sales and expense invoices, to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Support daily financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations, to ensure the smooth functioning of the financial team.
- Review, report, and chase the settlement of outstanding invoices to ensure timely receipt of payments.
- Reconcile bank statements with internal financial records to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
- Support the preparation and filing of monthly payroll, year-end accounts, and monthly returns to HMRC.
- Compile and prepare quarterly VAT returns for submission by external accountants.
- Liaise with external organisations, suppliers, and clients to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
