The Role:

As the Head of Engineering and Operations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Your responsibilities will include overseeing maintenance schedules, implementing energy-efficient practices, and managing a team of skilled technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system performance.
  2. Lead a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the efficient operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  3. Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement energy-saving initiatives and cost-reduction strategies.
  4. Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  5. Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring that all expenditures are aligned with company goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  1. Extensive experience in engineering management, preferably in a historic or heritage property.
  2. Strong knowledge of building systems and regulations, with a focus on preserving architectural integrity.
  3. Proven leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  4. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs.
  5. Flexibility and adaptability to handle the unique challenges of a Grade II listed building.
