Job Description

Marshall is seeking a skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Health, Safety and Environment Team, you will provide specialist knowledge and support to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Head of HSE and Health, Safety and Environment Manager in maintaining legal compliance for health, safety, and environmental legislation and regulations.
  • Implement and enforce safe working practices in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Action and ensure timely investigation of accidents and incidents, reviewing recommendations for preventative and corrective actions.
  • Participate in driving improvements and initiatives to promote a positive health and safety culture across the business.
  • Carry out auditor duties at Marshall operations as required and in line with the business audit programme.
  • Provide advice and guidance on implementing and maintaining ISO14001 systems and developing frameworks of ISO 45001 and HSG65.
  • Contribute to safety meetings and assist with health and safety communication, such as SLAM and toolbox talks.
  • Carry out trend analysis for safety coaching conversations and safety observations, actively participating in and providing guidance to the safety programme.
  • Support teams in undertaking root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and preventative measures as required.
  • Support the event management process by reviewing and assessing new reports using the company reporting system.
  • Conduct health and safety training and awareness sessions as required by the business.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH Health and Safety General Certificate and/or IOSH Managing Safely, ideally complemented by work experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong grounding in HSE, preferably within manufacturing.
  • Proven record of conducting risk assessments and audits.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent investigation, analysis, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate professional integrity, innovation, and proactiveness.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, and Visio.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work to deadlines and juggle priorities.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
