Job Summary
Safran Landing Systems is seeking a skilled Laboratory Process Technician to join our team in Gloucester. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for the analysis and management of vat solutions associated with salvage activity, with a focus on electroplating. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysis and management of vat solutions associated with salvage activity, with a focus on electroplating.
- Compilation and publication of vat analysis data.
- Preparation and testing of test panels, salt spray checks, Lawrence gauge analysis, and paint strip controls.
- Assistance in the control and procurement of processing chemicals, ensuring compliance with COMAH requirements.
- Collaboration with supervision and engineering to resolve issues related to chemistry and ancillary equipment.
- Review and optimization of process control specifications.
- Maintenance and refinement of existing works procedures, and development of new ones as needed.
- Quality management system support, including laboratory support for internal and external audits.
- Technical support for designated turnkey projects.
- Management of the metal finishing facility plating plant, including planned preventative maintenance.
Requirements
- Substantive experience in engineering, plating apprenticeship, or equivalent, ideally in the aerospace or automotive sectors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electroplating and its associated techniques.
- Ability to carry out a wide range of electroplating analysis and familiarity with tools, techniques, and equipment.
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage personal workload.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and strong quality awareness.
- Good IT and mathematical skills.
- Team working ethics and self-management skills.
