We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Specialist to join our team at 1st Staff. As a SEN Tuition Coordinator, you will be responsible for delivering tuition sessions to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD / SLD), or other Additional Educational Needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people in schools, local communities, or in their homes.
  • To develop and implement individualized lesson plans to cater to the unique needs of each student.
  • To establish strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

This is a part-time position, with 10-15 hours per week, split into 2-3 hours per day, 5 days a week. You will work closely with our dedicated support network, including lead tutors, safeguarding leads, curriculum leads, and a Head of Education.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with students with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Ability to identify barriers to learning and adapt teaching methods accordingly.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to earn up to £30 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
