Patient Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Safety Manager to join our team at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
About the RoleThe Patient Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring that systems and processes are in place to monitor patient safety, with a focus on learning from incidents and responding to national safety alerts.
The role will also involve the delivery of the Trust's patient safety and quality priorities, promotion of a safety culture that emphasizes learning, and direct support to staff undertaking learning responses and thematic reviews.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement patient safety strategies and initiatives to reduce risks and improve quality of care.
- Lead on the development, management, and support mechanisms for learning from patient safety events.
- Collect and analyze complex information from various sources to produce high-quality investigation reports and implementation plans.
- Support Care Groups in patient safety improvement activities to proactively reduce risks to patient safety and unanticipated adverse events.
- Work collaboratively with the Patient Safety Team to ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Experience of working within the acute sector of the NHS.
- Experience of quality, safety, and governance working in a complex organization.
- Experience of working with partner organizations and regulators.
- Postgraduate degree diploma level or equivalent in a related subject and/or relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of Quality Improvement Methodologies.
- Leadership and management training/qualification.
