About the Role:

Moon Consulting is seeking up to five highly skilled Non-Executive Directors to join the board of SHAL Housing, a not-for-profit community housing association with approximately 770 homes across the region. As a Non-Executive Director, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the organization and contributing to its mission to build and let homes for families and individuals who are homeless and in housing need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stand back from the day-to-day running of SHAL Housing, working with the executive team as required to facilitate the strategic decision-making process.
  • Offer a unique perspective in relation to corporate governance, strategy, risk management, and succession planning.
  • Contribute to the development of the organization's strategic plan and ensure its effective implementation.
  • Provide guidance and support to the executive team in areas such as corporate governance, risk management, and succession planning.
  • Attend board meetings and committee meetings as required.

Requirements:

  • Professional experience in corporate governance, strategy, risk management, or a related field.
  • Ability to offer a unique perspective and contribute to the development of the organization's strategic plan.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to the organization's mission and values.
