About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our CAMHS team at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions to children and young people experiencing complex and severe mental health problems.

Main Responsibilities

Deliver a range of psychological interventions, including individual and group work, to families and young people in line with their needs and goals.

Contribute to neurodevelopmental assessments and team discussions as part of the Neurodevelopmental Team.

Develop and deliver clinical care pathways, working closely with other agencies and services to ensure successful transitions between services.

Provide consultation, supervision, and developing psychological knowledge within the MDT.

Be an integral part of the leadership team at Fareham and Gosport CAMHS, supporting the development of innovative and effective ways of working and participating in systematic clinical governance.

Supervise and support the development of other psychologists and psychological therapists in the team, including trainee clinical psychologists on placement from the University of Southampton.

Utilize research skills for audit, service development, and research within the area served by the team/service.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in applied psychology as approved by the HCPC, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology.
  • Professionally registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HCPC).

Desirable:

  • Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, and/or other fields of applied psychology.
